I believe every learner is unique—different backgrounds, needs, learning styles—and so I tailor instruction accordingly. This includes diagnosing students’ strengths and weaknesses (e.g. pronunciation, grammar, comprehension), and setting goals together that are realistic and motivating.

Communicative Approach & Authentic Language Use

The primary goal is communication: being able to speak, understand, read, and write in German in real-life contexts. Lessons are built around meaningful tasks—role‑plays, dialogues, reading authentic texts (articles, videos, news), listening to real speech—rather than just abstract grammar drills.

Errors are natural and part of learning. I correct them, but sensitively. I often wait until fluency first (if speaking) and then focus on accuracy. Feedback might include correction of pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary use—but in a way that maintains confidence.
