I teach: Swedish pop-music culture and ESC (Eurovision Song Contest)

It all began in April back in 1974 when ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Brighton. It was, not only, Sweden's very first win, but it was the night when ABBA "put Swedish music on the map". Since then, this small country in the northern parts of Europe has won the competition 7 times and has become the third biggest exporter of pop music in the world, followed by U.S and the U.K.

We will dig into this imazing pop culture and learn about more than there is to know about the Swedish pop- music wonder, the swedish pop- royalties and the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). In addition, you will learn more about the famous Polar Music Prize, the most prestigious music award in the world, founded by Stig Andersson (the manager of ABBA)
